The department is active in providing theoretical and practical experience in PSM, both in urban and rural settings. Specialized wings include, entomology and parasitology, epidemiology, biostatistics, occupational health and public health chemistry. An excellent museum has been developed by the department providing an opportunity for students, faculty members and visiting fellows to visualise the multiple facets of the specialty ranging from insect control to preventive measures required in nuclear, biological and chemical warfare.
