The department is organized into under graduate wing cum clinical chemistry wing.  The clinical chemistry laboratory provides laboratory services to SUM Hospital.  It is also a referral laboratory and caters for specialized clinical chemistry investigations for the entire patients of the hospital.    The department is well equipped with modern laboratory instruments such as spectrophotometer, semi auto analyzer, auto analyzer, elctrolyte analyzer, chromatography and electrophoretic equipment etc.
